Maybe if this were the first ‘reality show’ ever to hit the airwaves I would feel bad for Jon and Kate. But I don’t. I feel bad for ‘Plus 8′ – the innocent children born to these two virtuosos.  If you’ve watched TV or read a newspaper in the past fifty years you would know that celebrity couples never last – EVER. The media, the attention, and the money destroys them. What’s the average life span of a celebrity marriage? Six weeks?

Not that these two were celebrities before they got married – they did the smart thing and became celebrities AFTER tying the knot. Genius! Why waste a perfectly happy marriage in borderline obscurity when you can trade it all for 15 minutes of fame and $50K/episode? With success stories like Nick & Jessica and Russell & Kimora what couple could resist the temptation of television cameras filimg 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Studies have shown this to be a low stress environment, perfectly suited for young couples with eight children…
