So I’m bumping Pandora the other day and I find myself jamming out hardcore to one of the best reggae sounds I’ve ever heard and it turns out to be a band called Matisyahu. Matisyahu? Sounds more like a Japanese motorcycle than a reggae group, so I run a quick Google search and find out Matisyahu is YIDDISH for Matthew. And then the record skipped… WHAT?!?

Maybe you’ve heard of him, but if not, this Orthodox Jew will blow your fucking mind. The religious lyrics don’t do much for me, but his sound and flow is out of this world. Check it out:

Matisyahu is to reggae what Tiger Woods is to golf, or better yet what Eminem is to rap. This guy is absolutely destroying stereotpyes with his sound – did you ever think you’d see a Hasidic Jew perfoming like this? Really incredible stuff and I’ve become an instant fan – just too bad he won’t be doing any Saturday shows…
